Veeam V13 , avoid GFS point to be lock by immutability

Post by NGRAZI »

Hello ,
after the Case #08217696 and discover fome issue on restore point calculator not provide this option ...

there is a way to avoid GFS FLAG to be immutable for the entire GFS duration in case of S3 object?

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... tml?ver=13

i see the Immutability setting add a new parameter "For the minimum immutability period only 10 days ".
if i create a new S3 bucket (s3-compatible) , with object-lock / versionning (immutable for veeam).
I apply this.

direct backup to this S3 repository , backup job is 31days + GFS 12M10Y.
GFS backup are not immutable?
Same if i push this S3 Repository As Capacity TIER in a SOBR + backup job is 31days + GFS 12M10Y.
GFS backup are not immutable?

in my case i don't want to have immutability on GFS , in case i want to change my S3 provider and paid a billing yor 10 years.
if you have an idea?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Nicolas,

Welcome to the forums.

Yes, you can use the <minimum immutability period only> to make sure GFS restore Points are not immutable during the entire duration.

For direct-to-object storage or object storage used in the Performance Tier
You can specify the minimum immutability period, for example "10 days", and GFS backups will only be immutable for those 10 days. The <minimum immutability period only> option requires at least v13.0.

On the Capacity Tier
GFS backups are always only immutable for the specified immutability period in the object storage extent properties.

Best,
