Question regarding Veeam Software Appliance and the default Linux mount server role

Post by massimiliano.rizzi »

Veeam Support - Case # 08226453
==================================================

Hello Team and good day,

according to the documentation (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... tml?ver=13), when using the Veeam Software Appliance:

1) The default Linux mount server role is automatically assigned to the Veeam Software Appliance itself
2) Every backup repository added to the backup infrastructure must have the Linux mount server configured. You cannot set the Linux mount server field to Not specified.

I am attempting to add a new repository, however it looks like Veeam Software Appliance itself cannot be used as the default Linux mount server, as can be seen below:

Please forgive me if I am missing something here,but considering that it is not possible to set the Linux mount server field to Not specified, we found ourselves stuck in a situation where cannot add a new repository.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Massimiliano

Hi Massimiliano,

Please continue with the Support Case, as not sure why you're getting that error specifically. I tested quick on 13.1.18 in my lab and was able to set my VSA (in HA cluster) as mount server without issue.
