Which storage account is used when deploying the Azure helper appliance?

Hello ,
Today, I opened a case titled “Case #08227175 — [SG] Constraints Between Instant Recovery and Azure VMs.”

I am planning to design an Instant Recovery to Azure solution.
Currently, in a B&R environment consisting of Azure VMs, we back up on-premises VMware VMs and transfer the backup files to Blob Storage connected via a private endpoint.

While researching the limitations of Instant Recovery to Azure, I came across the statement: “Storage accounts with private endpoints are not supported.”

As I understand it, to quickly convert the Azure helper appliance into an Azure VM during recovery, a template must be created in advance, and it appears that the components required to create this template for the Azure helper appliance are uploaded to a storage account (Blob storage).

What confuses me is whether the “Storage account” mentioned in the statement “Storage accounts with private endpoints are not supported” refers to the existing Storage account where the backup files used for Instant Recovery to Azure are stored, or whether it refers to the Storage account used to create the template for the Azure helper appliance.

If the latter is correct, I’m wondering if I simply need to create a Storage account without a private endpoint specifically for creating the Azure helper appliance template.

Since your question is not related to Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure, I moved it from the Microsoft Azure forum to our main Veeam Backup & Replication forum.
The first section, “Prerequisites to Virtual Networks” of the Help Center page where you found that statement is about helper appliances, not source backup repositories.
Let me check with our Help Center team whether we can format the page to make this clearer for our customers.

It's difficult to test at this stage, and we're now at the point of proposing this to the customer.
There is a resource group used by VBR-related components, and there is a resource group for DR testing. Which resource group should the storage account used by the Azure helper appliance be in?
