I want to backup LUKS encrypted operating system drive with a BTRFS filesystem (BTRFS is said to be supported) based on Ubuntu 24 LTS (KDE Neon) with Linux 7.0.0-30-generic (Ubuntu is said to be supported):
Question is if I can use ZFS filesystem as a destination for my full drive backup and as a source for a restore (using Veeam recovery bootable drive). Or what are exact steps/commands so Veeam supports it / allows me to use it?
Linux (deb) user.
Avoid using Google spyware and use Proton instead for increased privacy.
However, I assume we only officially support file systems on the backup target — internal storage or direct-attached storage — that are also listed as supported source file systems.
Could you clarify what you mean by "ZFS Filesystem", is it local storage, or is it a file server that you're sharing over the network?
To put it briefly, it doesn't really matter to Veeam Agent where the backup files are stored, as long as their integrity is preserved and they remain accessible whenever a restore is needed.
