Hi Team,
We raised a Veeam support Case # 07635301 - Follow-up on Case #07606132 with below details:
VGCP - Cloud SQL policies failing recently with error "Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. (Parameter 'type').
We have response from the RnD team. The issue was reproduced. Unfortunately, as they suspected, the IAM types of users are not supported at the current product version.
The only way to proceed with backups at the moment, is to avoid using IAM group type of the users.
The bigger picture is that now we are not able to move forward and incorporate more CloudSQL into Veeam based backup and we can not role back IAM group based policy as well.
The RnD team created a feature request for this option, so this can be added in future versions. Unfortunately, they don't have any information regarding about the version it will be added.
Hence please add this feature in the upcoming release.

Re: IAM types of users not supported in Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL
Hi Mirsad,
Yes, the PM team has seen your request. Currently, we need to understand how much it takes from the dev perspective to support this feature. Once we understand the estimate, it will be clear in which version this functionality can be included.
Hope it helps!

Re: IAM types of users not supported in Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL
Hi Vitaliy,
We have now installed Veeam Backup for Google Cloud v8.0.0.237 and retested the Cloud SQL backup. Unfortunately, the issue still exists, and the job fails with the following error: “Failed to back up Cloud SQL instance test. Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. (Parameter ‘type’).”
It therefore appears that IAM group–type users are still not supported in the latest version. Avoiding IAM groups is not a suitable long-term workaround for us, as they are part of our standardized access and security model. Could you please check with the PM/R&D team whether this feature is now planned for a specific future release?
