Good afternoon, I was referred to this forum as a way to reach the product manager. My government customer has storage on Azure, and Veeam running on a VM in the same tenant. This customer, like most agencies, has storage and retention requirements from NARA (National Archives). They also provide feedback on some products where the feedback is seen within their entire branch.
Today, the product cannot do full backups on a regular basis with incremental backups between those full backups, and then have the full backups retained according to a retention schedule. With this limitation, no government entity can be compliant with NARA guidelines. This is supposedly related to limitations in Microsoft's API's. Our sales contact has indicated there is a new version due in Q4 that will provide the needed capability. Unfortunately, I need to be able to give the government POC a more specific answer. If I can't, the product will probably be moved off the ATO list and into a "review pending" status. Can I get a better timeline and level of confidence in the new release?

Re: Backup For Azure In Government Cloud
Hi Jonathan,
Can youy clarify which product they are using by Veeam? Are we talking about Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure or Veeam Backup & Replication?
