Scheduling Limitation for Frequent Backup Jobs - Nutanix AHV

Post by Security »

Hello Team,

We are currently experiencing a limitation with the Nutanix AHV job scheduling.

When we configure backup jobs to run frequently, for example every certain number of hours, there is no option available to specify the initial start time for each job. As a result, multiple jobs are scheduled to start at 12:00 AM, causing them to run simultaneously.

This can lead to an overload of the available backup workers/brokers and network resources, which may result in job failures.

We would therefore like to know if there is a way to configure a different start time for each job, similar to the scheduling options available with vSphere, while maintaining the desired frequency.

For example, if three jobs need to run every 12 hours, we would like to be able to stagger them at different start times rather than having all three start simultaneously.

Could you please advise us on whether this is possible in the current Nutanix AHV configuration, or if there is an alternative recommended approach to achieve this?

Best regards,

@Security see https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... tml?ver=13. While not able to specify a specific start time per se you can set "Schedule" permitted/denied time intervals to stagger them.
