VIA Repository/Proxy cannot upgrade after Upgrade 13.0.1 to 13.1 (VBR Windows)

Post by Stabz »

Hello everyone,

After upgrading our Veeam Backup & Replication (Windows) server from version 13.0 to 13.1, we are experiencing issues when upgrading the components on our Veeam Infrastructure Appliance (VIA) proxies and repositories.

Repository issue

On our VIA repository, the component upgrade fails with the following error:

Code: Select all

The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.
This prevents the Data Mover component from being upgraded successfully.

Proxy issue

On our VIA proxies, the upgrade process fails with:

Code: Select all

Failed to perform appliance OS upgrade: unable to retrieve the list of mandatory updates
Support cases opened

We have already opened two support cases:

Case #08238483 - Repository XFS cannot upgrade Data Mover after Upgrade
Case #08240091 - After upgrade Veeam 13.1 error upgrade component

Question

Are there any known prerequisites, limitations, or specific considerations when using VBR on Windows together with Veeam Infrastructure Appliance (VIA) proxies and repositories?

Has anyone encountered similar issues after upgrading to VBR 13.1?

Any feedback or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Stabz,

Nothing special should be required for this scenario, so sounds like a technical issue, so please continue with Support on this.

The 2nd error may be network related (can't reach the repositories), but that's just a guess based only on the message, Support will be able to tell more after a review of the debug logs.
