First, apologies if this is not the right place on the forums, but I'm curious on what is needed to develop things for the Universal Hypervisor integration, and what the process for this is? Is it something partners do alone, or in a collaboration with Veeam?

The Universal Hypervisor API gives hypervisor vendors a defined, industry-standard path to Veeam compatibility. Vendors implement the standard API, and Veeam reviews and certifies the platform.
Example here: Platform9 describes it as oVirt-based in their write-up.
Mr. Andreas Neufert provided some details on the model in the Virtuozzo thread.

Veeam shares the API requirements with the vendor through the Technology Alliance Partner program after business alignment, so the first step is for the hypervisor vendor to register and apply there, then you will be guided about further steps.

Thanks for the information! In our case, we're contributing things to the OpenStack project and was wondering how we potentially could help implement support for vanilla OpenStack in Veeam.
