vCD support for RBAC roles

I need to create some custom roles to give access to some backup jobs, which are all vCloud Director-based. And to my great astonishment/disappointment it seems that this is not supported. Are you planning on supporting vCD for this?

Hi Daniel,

Yes, support for RBAC custom roles for vCloud Director workloads is being considered, but there is no ETA today. Our focus right now is on bringing VCF-A support, since we expect many service providers to migrate to VCF-A over the next two years before vCloud Director reaches it's end of support date.

May I ask, are you also planning to migrate to VCF-A? Or will it be a different product?

Years ahead we will surely have moved over fully to VCF-A for all workloads we now run in vCD. But until then we will have both types of platforms.
