Hi,
I'm interested to know about this statement: On the backup repository and on the target host, Veeam Backup & Replication starts a pair of Veeam Data Movers that are used to mount the VM disks from the backup file to the dummy VM - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... very-works
For Windows repository, I understand Veeam Data Movers is started on the physical repository server itself.
However, for Linux repository, we must specify a separate Windows Mount Server role for that Linux repository - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/ba ... erver.html
So in this case, does Veeam starts Veeam Data Mover on the physical hardened Linux server itself or it starts on the Windows Windows Mount Server that we set?
In VBR12, we cannot use Linux mount server yet.

Re: Instant Recovery to Microsoft Hyper-V from Linux Hardened Repository
Hello,
which problem do you try to solve?
To answer your question: the easiest way to imagine is replacing "repository" with "mount server" in the diagram. Everything that is "relevant" runs on the "mount server" on Windows.
Best regards
Hannes
