We did quite some enhancements in 9.5 and one of those was improving the performance even further (which is a goal we have for each version
)
If you read the what's new document (it is a long document) you will notice that many items under the hood are improved to allow better performance: https://www.veeam.com/pdf/new/veeam_bac ... new_en.pdf
So yes, I would say it is perfectly normal
