Hello,

So every time our Veeam Backup server is rebooted the Veeam Backup Service doesn't start anymore with the following error:

Code: Select all

Service cannot be started. System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.
   at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource)
   at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add)
   at Veeam.Backup.DBManager.CExtendableRepositoriesDbScope.GetStoragesAssociatedWithRepository(Guid repositoryId)
   at Veeam.Backup.Core.CStorageToExtentAssociationService.FillDependencies()
   at Veeam.Backup.Service.CVbServiceImpl.<.ctor>b__1()
   at System.Lazy`1.CreateValue()
   at System.Lazy`1.LazyInitValue()
   at Veeam.Backup.Service.CVbServiceImpl..ctor(CVbEnvironment env, CTerminationMediator terminator)
   at Veeam.Backup.Service.CVeeamBackupSvc.OnStart(String[] args)
   at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)
We know how to solve it and that is to run a query against the SQL database but it's getting annoying, does anybody else have this issue and was it eventually solved?

Hi Nvdwansem,

This issue is fixed in the upcoming B&R 9.5 Update 4 as was correctly mentioned by our support engineer.

Will U4 provide a fix to this error occurring with Replica jobs also?

@wishr I wasn't aware that was mentioned, I guess we'll have to wait for the next update and hope the server doesn't get rebooted very often during patch rounds for example...

@AlexB82, could you please share your case ID since this is a generic error and underlying circumstances and thus root cause can vary.

@nvdwansem, you can wait for GA or check the previous Forum Digest for an RTM bits download link.

While it's strongly recommended to update to the latest version, you can still get SQL queries by request from the support team - they will be happy to assist you with the overall process.
