I installed AWS Storage Gateway about a month ago. It works great so far I have backup jobs from Veeam copy to the Storage Gateway. Everything seems to be work as expected however I find my data transfer out seems to have gone through the roof. I have only copied to the storage not restored anything. I have a 2TB volume with about 1.6 TB used.
I am trying to track down exactly what is calling data out but I am at a lose where to start. Any ideas would be helpful!! Thanks for your time.
Could it be when Veeam is trimming the backup jobs that is causing this?
$0.090 per GB - first 10 TB / month data transfer out beyond the global free tier 1,190.125 GB $107.11

Re: AWS Storage Gateway data transfer out
Do you have Backup files health check enabled for jobs targeting this repository? This will cause data retrieve from the cloud storage.
