We're still in the process of moving servers to the cluster we've got Veeam licensed for, and in the meantime there are some drives on those servers I'd like to start backing up with Veeam because the tape drive for the old system isn't coping.
I created a File To Tape job, specifying the location with a UNC path, and it seemed to work ok. Then I tried a File Copy job to get it to copy the files to the Veeam server first, thinking it might be better for the tape drive if it's getting the files locally rather than over the network. It failed with an Access Is Denied error. I can't see anywhere in either job to specify which username to use to gain access, so I would have thought both jobs would use the same credentials.
What's happening here? Is what I'm doing sensible anyway?

Re: Backing up files from a non VM server
Hello Peter,
When you configured the File Copy job did you get any warnings/errors while chosing a folder of the target host in destination step of wizard?
Could you provide the error message you get while the file copy job is running?
Thanks!

Are the corresponding services running as Local System? If so, this thread might be useful. Thanks.
