Backup Copy Job Failed removable media changed

Post by Mehnock »

My Backup Copy Job failed because the backup engine did not find the backup set from the previous run into removable media.

I swapped the drive but according to the documentation, it should have created a new backup set since I used the same drive letter as the existing drive I was using.

The log shows an entry like the following for each VM I am backing up:

Code: Select all

11/19/2021 3:05:42 AM :: Processing [vm name removed] Error: File does not exist. File: [OffSiteBackupCopyD2021-11-17T030000_66F4.vbk].
Failed to open storage for read access. Storage: [OffSiteBackupCopyD2021-11-17T030000_66F4.vbk].
Agent failed to process method {Stg.OpenRead}.
Is there anything else I should do besides using the same drive letter?

Hi Christopher, do you have the rotated drive check box in the repository settings enabled? If yes, please contact technical support for a closer look at your setup. Thanks.

I am pretty sure I had that check in the Advanced section of the repository configuration but since I removed the drive, the settings are not there anymore so I added my new drive and made sure the check is there.

I'll have to wait a few days to swap the drive again and see what happens.
