Backup proxy and deduplication

As i see that deduplication performs at Backup Repository. But why not on Backup proxy? In that case, we would achieve client side or both side deduplication.

Aleksandr, deduplication as well as compression are performed on the proxy server. Please see the sticky general FAQ topic in the main forum for more information. Thanks!
