I have a vcenter 5 environment running ESXi 5.0 on the hosts with VMFS3 datastores and ever since upgrading to version 6 I have received the following error on all backup jobs.
12/3/2011 7:33:24 PM :: PrepStorageForWriteEx failed '\\server\path\vm.vbk'
Client error: Access is denied
Failed to create or open file [\\server\path\vm.vbk].
The backup jobs are SAN mode jobs with VMware tool quiesce disabled. Has any experienced this issue?

Re: Backup to share fails after upgrade to v6 : "Access deni
Hi Justin, it looks like you did not follow the upgrade procedure from the Release Notes document included with your download. Specifically, step 6 of the Veeam Backup & Replication Server upgrade procedure.
Thanks.If your CIFS shares require authentication, edit settings for each backup repository manually, and enter share credentials before running the jobs.

Re: Backup to share fails after upgrade to v6 : "Access deni
Hello!
I had the same problem on one of my backup (Veeam 6.1.0.180).
Reboot veeam server resolve the problem. It is a problem of locked file (I don't know if it's Veeam or Windows that's lock the file...)
Bye bye
