Database unavailable after saving (Oracle)

Post by JeanmiG »

Hello, my ID support is "00533353"

I save a VM windows 2008r2 with an Oracle database, after the backup completes successfully by veeam backup and replication (application aware-proccessing is active with identifiers sysdba valid).
I have to restart the server for the database to be accessed again .
Here is the error message:

Code: Select all

ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor : ini_com:erreur Oracle!
Thank you in advance for your help, regards,
foggy

This case number is not valid, do you have a correct case ID? Is this database running in ARCHIVELOG or NOARCHIVELOG mode?

My support ID is marked as valid 850 days, if not or can I find the correct ID ?
The database Oracle is running in NOARCHIVELOG mode.

It should be in the subject of your e-mail correspondence with support engineer and can also be found in your customer portal profile.

Veeam B&R shuts down databases running in NOARCHIVELOG mode before the backup (this is required to provide consistency). There's a chance that the database is not able to start properly after that or is just starting too long. Your support engineer will be able to verify that.
