BKP & Replication 8.0 - restore to a new location..question.

Post by Bart »

Hi Everybody,

I´m a new user of Veem Backup & Replication 8.0 feature and I have some doubts

I´m testing a Backup and Restore function.

My virtual environment is vSphere Client Version 5.0.0 and vCenter Server 5.0.0, there are 16 virtual Windows 2008 Servers.

So, I would like to create a Backup police and I did Backup of (1) server. (100% Done - OK)

Now I´m trying to restore to a new location.

I´m followed the step of User Guide version 8, but I understood very well.

In the Full VM Restore Wizard panel and can´t find the way to restore in My Local hard disk.

When I Select Datastore, show for me only the Datastore of My Host (same a source).

Someone can help me ?

See the picture for your reference.

Rafael, full VM restore implies you're restoring VM to the host directly. If you need to restore VM files to some Windows server, without the need to register the restored VM in virtual infrastructure, please use the VM file recovery option. Thanks.

Also keep in mind that if you're using thin disks, restoring them to NTFS system will make them thick, since thin disks can be stored on VMFS only.
