CDP proxy -> datastore connectivity

Post by FrenchBlue »

Hello,

I'd like to understand the connectivity between a CDP target proxy and the target datastore of the associated cdp policy. We have only NFS datastores for all VMs, backups, replicas, etc...
On the host where this cdp destination proxy resides, NFS traffic is routed through a specific vmkernel interface, but after double checking, the traffic from the cdp dest proxy to the cdp replicas datastore does not take this way. How does it work exactly?

Thanks.

OK, think I got it. It sends traffic to the host where the replicas reside, it doesn't write to the datastore from the CDP proxy.

You got it right:
Veeam CDP Proxy Service on the target proxies decompresses and decrypts the received data. Then sends data to the target host.
Thanks!
