Console launch speed

Post by howartp »

Good morning

I've noticed recently the Console UI is taking an age to launch.

I rebooted our backup server last night then logged on fresh this morning.

6x quad core CPUs
24GB RAM
No jobs running

It takes 1.5 minutes (timed) from clicking the shortcut on the desktop to the VBR console appearing ready for me to use it. Half of that time is waiting for the login box (pre-populated/saved) to appear and half is with the splash window to appear.

Is this the same for everyone or is something "up"?

Looks like something is up.
I'd start by checking C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\Console\console_domain_username_vbrserver.log for any visible errors there and open a support ticket afterwards to troubleshoot deeper(like SQL server performance).
/Cheers!

Hi Folks,

I know that if you keep the default history for sessions after a while this increases the DB size quite a bit and perhaps that affects the launch.

cheers
