Hi! New to Veeam B&R,
A job was setup using the default Incremental method with Version 8. We didn't understand that Version 8 by default uses forward incremental forever and so after about 10 backups changed the method to reverse incremental in order to reduce repository space usage. This created a new full backup in the chain (albeit reverse). The next day we then realized that the default forward incremental forever was ok and reverted the job back to it.
Problem is, we now have the full backup from the forward incremental forever and one from the reverse incremental in the backup chain.
We want to remove the full backup created by the reverse incremental backup job, what is the correct way to do this?
Thanks
James

Re: Correct way to remove backup increment
You cannot remove the latest full in the chain (created after switching to reverse incremental), since currently the job bases on it. Are you're after removing the full from the forever forward part of the chain instead? You can do that safely, including all the increments (VIB's) that rely on it, however they will be deleted automatically once the job accumulates the specified number of restore points based on the latest full.
