Hi all,
I plan to use our main office as a DR site for our smaller remote locations. The sites are all connected using VPN connections and email servers are the most critical services which I will replicate to the main office. The email servers, however, don't respond well to IP address changes so I won't be using RE-IP on the replicated servers.
My plan is to create a virtual DR subnet with the same network address as the remote location. This virtual DR subnet will route with the main office's subnet using FREESCO as a router in between. The replicated server from the remote site will have its interface connected to the virtual DR subnet.
When we have issues at the remote site, I will failover to the replicated server and bring the FREESCO VM up. Next I would change the routing of the main office's email server to point to the FREESCO rather than the normal VPN interface.
Will this work or anyone see any issues with this?
Thanks
Victor

Re: DR Subnet
Victor, the plan looks good to me. Were you able to implement/test the described DR scenario?
