Exchange Item Recovey - identify user

Post by real_tarantoga »

Hello,
after migrating from Groupwise to Exchange our helpdesk is able to restore mail box items without the datacenter interaction.
Due to some identity management predefinitions the search scope isn't fixed on the user account name but the real, fullname:
Looking for a person "Julia Schmidt" - instead of a distinct search for e.g. itmyacc123 we have to search for "Julia" or "*Schmidt".
But there are two persons with the name "Julia Schmidt".

Is there any way to identify over the enterprise manager web console exactly which Julia is on what mailbox?

Thank you!
Stefan

As this lookup is related to AD.. one way could be if User Helpdesk is allowe, to add a "." or symbol to the name in the AD account and remove it aftewards. I guess this is not really practical and way out of process, but maybe helpful temporary for those who are not allowed to use VEX by law (access to personal data).

Thank You, Andreas & Egor!
That's what I feard. In fact, the problem seems to me really not related to an "veeam issue", but to the unconventional IDM search that we are forced to respect ...
But if there were a way to additionally show the mailbox or simply the Exchange database in use - that would be a big help for us.
So, thank You again that You will handle this as feature request! :)

I will communicate Your work-around. Thank You for that!

Nice week-end to all!
Stefan
