We've been backing up our Exchange 2010 DAG, using a passive VM containing copies of all the databases and logs.
Veeam 9.5 and vSphere 5.1
Lately, some of the drives have been running out of space, and when we compared the sizes on the active volumes compared with the passive ones - there were big differences.
Looking closer, it appears as though there are many Shadow Copies left on many of the drives (there's 28 in total). Some are a few GB, a couple are close to half a TB.
I know Veeam uses VSS for Exchange backups; does it create these Shadow Copies and why are they being left on the drives?

Re: Exchange Shadow Copies
If everything works as expected we delete our Shadow Copies.
Can you please explain on which system they are left? On the Server that you backup or on the other servers?
Do you use any kind of NLB Cluster or external Load Balancer for CAS roles on same server that you backup?
