export a vm?

Post by phancock » 19 people like this post

I am troubleshooting something with Symantec and need to send them one of our vm's to test, this was there request:
Thanks for replying back. Since you the problem persists only on VMs you can just export the VM using Veeam backup software available at http://www.veeam.com/virtual-machine-ba ... -free.html and then zip the VM image and upload it to Symantec FTP.
OVF format is not necessary at this point.
I currently own the full Veeam Backup and Replication software, is it possible to do this and if so what are the steps?

Thanks

I guess this guy is talking about VeeamZIP, which is available if you select the Virtual Machines node in the left pane of Veeam B&R console and right-click the required VM. Though, this recommendation coming from Symantec support looks pretty funny indeed.

Did Symantec just request customer to use competing product to help troubleshoot their own product?
Amazing!
