Hi,
I was wondering if you could make it an option in SureBackup to disable vmware tools update on the vms being verified? It sometimes causes the vm to reboot(as needed), after the tools upgrades, and on the rare occasion where the tools doesn't install/uninstall correctly, it causes the nic not be installed making the VM fail the ping test.
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Feature Request, SureBackup disables automatic vmware tools update
Hi Ryan,
I guess that VMware Tools upgrade on production VM and subsequent incremental run of backup job might be a solid workaround? If the state of VM in backup corresponds to point in time when upgrade was required, then it's expected to face the issue during SureBackup.
Thanks!

Re: Feature Request, SureBackup disables automatic vmware tools update
I know this is an old post, but I'd like to request the same feature OP is mentioning.
We've run into this now that we've got a SureBackup job going, and have recently done ESXI updates (and are in the process of getting the VMware Tools updates done).
We normally have the auto update feature turned off, but we turn it on and schedule the reboots to automatically update servers in a controlled manner. Having the option on though in the backed up version of the system caused an issue for us with testing our Domain Controller, and the VMware tools update interrupted the authoritative restore, so domain checks in the SureBackup job failed.
It would be nice if, after restoring the VM into SureBackup, it just toggled that off. Or heck, even if a scheduled pause was in there so it can be turned off manually, would be an improvement. I'm definitely not on your software design team, but I feel like it would be an easy fix on your end. And could save the headache of "then it's expected to face the issue during SureBackup."

Hi Daniel and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!
Your request is noted, but I cannot comment on ETA because it depends on many different factors.
Thanks!
