Firewall GPO for Veeam

Veeam Logoby jimmycartrette » Fri Jun 09, 2017 4:39 pm

I've noticed the default firewall for server 2016 and windows 10 isn't letting my veeam inject it's service. So as of now I'm disabling the firewall, running the backup once, then enabling the firewall.

I was wondering if anyone else has already run into this and created a solution - like a GPO that allows the veeam proxies access through the windows firewall.

I realize I'm being lazy here, just wondering if someone has already done the work of figuring out the ports etc.

You can review all the ports that need to be open for product operation at this page. Moreover, network connection to the guest OS is not even required, as Veeam B&R is able to perform backup over VIX.
