Hi,
is there a way to monitor the 'please wait' progress indicator Starting restore session... during a FLR in the BACKUP BROWSER that will popup ? Currently we only see a green snake rotating @the left side of Starting restore session...
A nice feature request would be a %indicator instead of this green snake
Thanks !

Re: FLR Backup Browser for Windows Explorer
Hi,
For how long does the "Starting restore session" stays on your screen prior to directory tree becomes available ?

Re: FLR Backup Browser for Windows Explorer
forever We are advised to install update 1 but this is not resolving the issue.
We use a dedup NAS share (storeonce) that is using a physical gateway server. Veeam server is virtual and being used as mount server for FLR;

Re: FLR Backup Browser for Windows Explorer
Ok, while you're working with support team I'll provide you with a few hints:
Second, in order to construct a directory tree Veeam pulls metadata from the backup. You can speed up the retrieval process if you install console as close to your repository as possible (on your gateway server, for example)
Third, the same applies to your mount server - please make sure that it is installed on your gateway server or somewhere close to it.
Thank you.
In such case FLR may take a long time, indeed. First, dedupe appliance is not the best choice for primary backup location as every time you want to restore the backup file has to be rehydrated which will take time.We use a dedup NAS share (storeonce) that is using a physical gateway server.

Re: FLR Backup Browser for Windows Explorer
Short update:
We did some testing with mount/gateway server and Veeam Console placement (thanks PTide).
We installed the Veeam console on the gateway server, and made this server also mount server for the corresponding repository. Placement of the mount server does not impact the FLR backup browser. After installing the Veeam Console on the gateway server we see a huge improvement:
In the original scenario we had to wait 20 minutes before a 300 GB vm was mounted, however afterwards the FLR backup browser was still waiting.
Installing the Veeam Console on the gateway server we had to wait 4 minutes before the FLR backup browser wizard start. Selecting a restore point gives us 2 more minutes, while then you are able to browse with the FLR browser.
Thanks !
