I/O Filters Uninstall
Hi guys,
Our Veeam server has been crashed and now we have deployed a new one.
the first VEEAM we were using CDP now i cannot install CDP with the new VEEAM because its already been deployed by the old one.
what is the best way of fixing this ?
I tried to deploy the CDP from the new VEEAM but it keerps erroring cannot do it on the currently state. i know this a DNS related thing but DNS is correctly configured.
i can resolve and ping ESXIS names.
Thank you for the info

Hi Julien
It‘s difficult to say whats wrong without analyzing the debug log.
Can you please open a support case? This forum is R&D. We can help you with design, feature request or how to setup questions but technical issues requires always a support case.
Make sure, that you upload required logs.
Thank you.

this is a question how to do. i need to open a ticket to ask a question in the forum?
i am just asking how to remove and install or if there is a best methode to reinstall the Filter when the VEEAM crashes.

Hi Julien
I‘m verry sorry, I assumed that you have technical issues in removing the drivers.
You can use the following kb article to remove the old drivers if the old vbr server is not available anymore.
After that, you can reinstall them with a new server.
https://www.veeam.com/kb4151
I have read somewhere that you can takeover the old CDP VAIO filter driver from a new vbr server by configuring cdp on a new cdp server.
I don‘t find the article right now.

Re: I/O Filters Uninstall
Hi guys,
does CDP works only on a Domain VEEAM ?
we have removed the VEEAM Server from the Domain and want to configure the CDP the next days.
the VEEAM Server is not on the Domain but using the Domain controller as it own dns.
ESXI and vCenter are able to ping each others.
is there a anything else i have missed to get this configured set up correctly ?

No, there's no requirement for a Veeam server to be a part of a Active Directory domain for any functionality at all.

@Gostev
Thank you for your answer, my last question and i promisse i'll leave alone .
if i already have a VEEAM on the domain, if i remove it from domain it should continue working? and specify the right users to run it with.
