Incremental job files

Post by marius roma »

Let me ask for a clarification about incremental job files.
Imagine an incremental job that keeps 20 restore points and performs a full backup every Saturday.
For some reason independent from Veeam the incremental file crated on Thursday gets corrupted.
I cannot restore my VMs from the backup created on Thursday neither from the followinf incremental file created on Friday.
On Saturday a new full file is created: is it created from scratch, like a new job?
Can I presume that I can restore my VMs from the new full backup and from the following ones, regardless file corruption on previous files?
Regards
Marius

It depends if it is an active or synthetic full backup.
Can I presume that I can restore my VMs from the new full backup and from the following ones, regardless file corruption on previous files?
Yes, if it was an active full backup.
Thanks!
