Instant VM Recovery changed files location

Post by collinp »

Just curious. If an instant vm recovery runs and users are making changes to the server being recovered during that recovery time and then instant recovery fails, can those changed files be identified and recovered? I"m assuming the changes are being stored in delta .vmdk files located on the repository server here? C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\NfsDatastore

Not necessarily. Where the changes are stored depends on what location you selected for the write cache when performing an instant VM recovery.

If you speak about a Veeam Server unplanned down situation while Instant Recovery is running then when the servers come back you can boot the VM again.
We added a lot of protection for those situations.

Maybe you have other concerns regarding the delta files, then please share additional details. Thanks.
