iSCSI for reFS... stupid idea?
Currently my primary backups go to a 2016/reFS repository DAS, then backup copies go to a QNAP via CIFS share, so obviously it can't take advantage of the reFS goodness even though it's where the GFS copies are kept and it could benefit from reFS more than the primary backup storage... so I was wondering "how stupid" an idea it would be to whack the smb share on the qnap and make it an iscsi target and attach the main Veeam (2016) server to it so it could be formatted as reFS? Good idea? Horrible? Somewhere in between?

Hi Jim,
The idea of ReFS formatted drive connected to the Veeam B&R server via iSCSi is not stupid but recommended approach.
Thanks!
