MDaemon

I see that Veeam Explorer™ for Microsoft Exchange provides integration between Veeam B&R and Exchange.
Is there anything similar for MDaemon?

Hello Mario,
Thank you for your post!

Unfortunately there is no such tool for MDeamon, however you can use application item recovery built in Veeam B&R (or U-AIR) as a workaround. You can take a look at YouTube overview here, and for the detailed instruction refer to the User Guide

Marius,
There's no need for any "integration", since MDaemon is a very simple product when compared to Exchange. Exchange's mail storage is based on a database, so a backup application needs to know a lot about the contents of the database to be able to do granular restores. MDaemon's mail storage is not based on a database - every "folder" (POP, IMAP, Public), is simply a directory on the filesystem of the server, with each email (or other item) a simple TXT file. If you backup all the files, you can restore any of the files as needed.
