Just curious how this will work out in real life:
If have a perfect set of Windows DC's on a esxi 5.5 environment. I configured replica's of all these VM's.
What will happen when I do a planned failover. My goal is to migrate the VM 'as is' to the new 6.5 host.
So I'm not keen to get it booted in 'AD restore mode' and/or safe mode.
Can I use a replica job for this and why is this better than a Quickmigrate between the two hosts using Veeam.
The replication job is application aware and runs without any problem.
Thank you for your insights, tips, pitfalls !

Re: Moving healthy DC from 5.5 host to new 6.5 host
Quick Migration is not application-aware, so planned failover is preferable. Please refer to this article for instructions on DC failover.
