Hi Group,
Have a few question on MSSQL backups and replications.
1.) Is the backup/replication of the Tempdb required in order to have good sql backups?
2.) We recently moved Tempdb to its own vmware disks which physically are on a different set of spindles to increase performance. Now that we have 2 vmware hard drives on this virtual machine, I notice that the backups/replications will process both hard drives simultaneously. Does that create a bigger performance strain having them both backed up at the same time?

Re: MSSQL backups and replications question
1) As far as I'm aware, tempdb is not required, because it's being recreated each time sql service is started.
2) Increased number of disks means more data and more tasks need to be processed at the same time. Just make sure that proxy servers follow outlined system requirements.
Thanks.

Re: MSSQL backups and replications question
Hi Tom,
It should be possible to exclude databases from backup job by using these instructions > "Veeam v7- backing up vCenter's remote SQL VSS writer err", but I would double-check that with our support team.
Thanks!
