My customer has a veeam backup server version 7 sp4. He doesn't want to upgrade this server, but he wants to install a new veeam backup server version 9 and he wants to tranfer gradually the Vmware backup enviroment on new server. Now I need to have your opinion opinion about how to stop the backup activity on old server.
Let me explain myself. In your opinion, is it better to make a last full level backup on old server before to stop the backup activity of a VM?
thanks lot in advance

Re: new backup server together old server
Hi Roberto, if he is going to change just the Veeam B&R server itself and leave backup repositories intact, there's no need to perform fulls prior switching to new jobs. He can just export existing Veeam B&R v7 configuration, import it into the new server, disable all jobs there, and go switching by gradually disabling the old jobs and enabling the corresponding jobs on the new Veeam B&R instance.
