Not run SQL Server VSS writer

Hi

The customer want to get a backup of the entire SQL Server VM with VSS.
However, since SQL Server data backup is acquired by other software, they do not want to execute commands to SQL Server from Veeam. (In other words, they do not want Veeam to run SQL Server VSS writer)

Is it possible to not run SQL VSS writer while performing online backup of VM with VSS ?

Hi Toshihiro, if SQL Server transaction logs are backed up by some third-party software, they just need to use the 'Perform copy only' option in the Veeam B&R backup job settings. In this case, Veeam B&R will not touch transaction logs during VM backup.
