Ports and Protocol used by Veeam backup server?

Post by Backup.Operator »

What are the ports and the protocol used by the Veeam backup server v12?
I wanted to turn on my firewall, but don't want to cause the backup, replication or restore process to fail.
Remote Desktop Service (TermService) should be disabled
Does the above mean the RDP port TCP/3389 must be disabled or turned off?

if yes, then what are the access method for the VBR console?

Hi,

you can find all required ports for Veeam Backup & Replication here:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

In addition there is a port tool that may help here: https://www.veeambp.com/ports/index.html

The access for the veeam condole does not run over RDP. You can install a standalone console outside your VBR server and connect to it.

Thanks

Hi Backup.Operator,

If you are looking to install the Backup server using the Server Core or no-GUI, it is not yet supported as of this release v12: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... erver-core

Hope that helps.
