I'm using a CIFS repository with per VM files option and the gateway server automatically selected, 10 proxies with 4 cores each.
I wish to build 5 backup jobs to group the VMs by OS/credentials and to schedule the jobs with one hour between them .
The first jobs starts and the 10 proxies take care of 40 VMDKs.
After one hour the the second job starts, but the first is still processing a last big VMDK.
Can the second job use the proxies even if the first one is not ended?

Re: proxy/gateway servers assignement
Hey,
That shouldn't be a problem, since the last big VMDK is processed by one of 10 proxies (1 task = 1 disk\vmdk)
Even if all the proxies are busy, Veeam B&R will put the next job in the queue.
Please keep in mind that running too many concurrent tasks against the same repository may reduce overall performance. Thanks!

Re: proxy/gateway servers assignement
And you do not need to schedule jobs with a one hour delay - you can schedule them with a one minute delay and this way the second job will not wait but start getting proxy resources once the first job releases them.
