Question about veeam 9.5 standard, vS5.5, NFS

Post by tcb »

Question about veeam 9.5 standard, vSphere 5.5 replication and NFS:

Hello all, couldn’t quite find the answer poking around - been using veeam for many years but just now starting to work with setting it up using NFS, here is my scenario:

2 VMware 5.5 sites, same NFS volume mounted at both locations from a 3rd site (say AWS)
If I do replication from Site1 to a host at Site2 to that NFS store will veeam in any way take advantage of the NFS share being mounted at site1 as well from a bandwidth/performance perspective (or is there a whole other way I should probably do this?)

thanks

Hi Boris,

If I clearly understood your scenario, you want to use remote NFS datastore for both sites and replicate VMs using the same storage.

Is it possible to deploy Veeam Backup Proxy on the storage site?
To collect, transform and transport VM data during the VM replication process, Veeam B&R uses Veeam Data Movers. For optimal data retrieval process, proxy should be deployed close to source and target datastores.

More detailed information about Veeam Replication scenarios can be reviewed over here: Replication Scenarios

Thanks!
