I have a backup job that is starting to have too long a duration to complete before people meet in at the office start working. The job is backing up VM’s on two VMware 5.1 hosts (HOST1 and HOST3) to a NAS storage device (gigabit). Last night my job was running for 10:51 hours and was processing 1.4 TB with a processing rate at 5 MB/s.
Load: Source 18% > Proxy 9% > Network 5% > Target 94%
Veeam Backup & Replication 220.127.116.111 is running on a Windows 7 Professional located on HOST1. The bottleneck seems to be my target and I guess that means that my NAS storage is the bottleneck.
What can I do to improve my backup performance?
