Hi,
We have a job with 90 restore points that we reduced to 30. Now it has been "stuck" in "Merging oldest incremental backup into full backup file" for several days. The job is incremental forward forever.
I understand why this happens and why it takes time. My question is: What happens if I stop the job? Can I then run a backup and after that will it continue to remove restore points down to 30? Or will something be corrupt?

Re: Reducing number of restore points take long time?
Hi Janåke, yes, you can stop the job, it should continue merging during the next cycle from where it stopped. However, if you have the ability to let it finish the current merge process, I'd recommend doing so.
