using veeam 7 with ESXi 5.1.0. I have a VM which is configured with 28 restore points, please advise on the following:
The VM is powered down and currently being backed up but if its removed (deleted) within ESXi I assume the 28 restore points will remain in veeam, only problem I can think of is that veeam will try and back it up each day can this be disabled?
Also if the vm is removed from the backup job in veeam I assume the 28 restore points will be deleted so no of recovering from veeam?

Re: remove vm from backup
Hi Amrik, there's a deleted VMs retention setting that defines how long data for this VM should be kept in the repository. Once deleted, the job will log a warning that the VM is not accessible and cannot be backed up.

Re: remove vm from backup
And keep in mind that you can always remove that VM from backup job configuration (after deleting it from the VI) and offload existing backups for archival purposes (if required).
