Hey, I have a question about VMware backup proxies. I recently added some new backup proxies and removed the old ones. I'm trying to do a restore from a backup that used one of the removed proxies. I keep getting an RPC error, even when I specify one of the new proxies to use in the restore.
Does anybody have any ideas about what's going on? I'll try to post some screenshots. My current idea of a workaround is to move the backup files to the new repository.
This is the error I received:
9/17/2015 10:55:36 AM Starting restore job
9/17/2015 10:55:36 AM Locking required backup files
9/17/2015 10:56:47 AM Error Restore job failed Error: The RPC server is unavailable
RPC function call failed. Function name: [GetSvcVersion]. Target machine: [192.168.128.80].
The proxy I specified was 192.168.128.231. 192.168.128.80 is one of the proxies that was removed.
Thanks

Re: Removed proxy, now can't restore
Have you performed infrastructure rescan? I also recommend contacting support for the most effective addressing of this issue.
