Restart vCenter Server impact to Veeam active jobs.

Post by stuartmacgreen »

This is a technical scenario question that someone can probably answer.

Say, I have a Backup Copy Job that is performing a first full backup (WAN based) and I expect that to take a couple of days.
During that period I wish to restart my vCenter Server.
Will the BCJ fail if I restart the vCenter Server.

Thanks

During the initial processing backup copy communicates with the vCenter server to verify the source VM list (it confirms the specified exclusions, for instance). So if the connection to vCenter server is lost at this stage, a backup copy job will fail. After initial processing a backup copy job can sustain connection loss. Thanks!
