Hi all,
we have a customer with around 50 Sharepoint databases. If we want to search for an item in Sharepoint Explorer it takes some time to attach the databases (around 10-15 minutes), but this is OK for us.
After all databases are attached it takes around an hour to go to 10% in search progress without showing any results.
we are using a virtual VBR server with SQL server installed to attach the databases from physical Windows Server 2019 repository server.
would it be better to store the backup files on the same server as SQL server for restore? Or install SQL server on the repository server? how can we increase the search speed?
thanks in advance
Christian

Re: Sharepoint item restore search optimization
I'd start with checking whether the connection between source repository and mount server is indeed a bottleneck here. Debug logs might shed some light on this, so, might be worth reaching the support team and identifying the weakest link in the chain this way. Thanks!

Hi Vladimir,
thanks for the fast response. I will try to inspect the log files or open a case.

The support team will be able to help you with this, think, it'd be easier and faster; debug logs are something they're dealing with on daily basis. Thanks!
