Hi There,
We are planning to migrate big database to new SQL server and facing long maintenance window becasue of full restore using Veeam takes circa 8 hours. I cant find this information either on forum or knowledge center but is it possible to restore full backup and then just incremental plus t-log backups when maintanence window starts. It seems that target database will be replaced and it will take the same amount of time each time. I believe you can do this with SQL level backup by resotring full and then just applying diff.
Maybe there are some better ways to do it but we dont use Availibity Groups.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: SQL database restore - first full then point in time
Hi Adam, for migration scenarios with minimum downtime replication with a planned failover is typically recommended. Thanks!
