Hi,
from my VBR server I backup a VM-SQL of a client, hosted in our datacenter, with SQL application backup
ports between VBR and VM-SQL should not be opened for security reasons
the DEV department needs every day to have the data restore the day before on their SQL-DEV server
VBR, VM-SQL and SQL-DEV servers are in different and untrusted domains
I had made a powershell script that worked, but I had opened many ports between VBR and SQL-DEV
and Security rejected me the solution
there is a way to do a scheduled task (where ?) do the SQL db restore with renaming of db and files, including path ?
You can program and schedule on the VBR the restore of the db on the target SQL-DEV server with renaming of the db and files, including path,
without opening doors but taking advantage of VMWare ?
Or implement a SureLab (but how ?), so I would have the db of the day before on the restore of the VM-SQK, but I should also connect the SQL-DEV where you are the tools and software of the DEV department ?
If I haven't been clear I can add more details
Thank you.

Re: SQL restore
Hi Stefano,
Is there a way to restore databases to another server dedicated to tests where you can easily open all of the required ports without any objections from your security team?
Thanks!
